In my Weight Loss Support group this morning (we meet by phone), Christine brought up the difficulty she had with staying on track with healthy eating. Although she knows what healthy eating is and strives for low glycemic eating, she says she gives into cravings and mindless snacking.

If we look at the underlying causes of weight gain, our mental habits have everything to do with what we feel, and its our feelings that drive our actions. Christine identified an underlying mental habit of worry and anxiety that then causes her to reach for comfort foods and eat to cover up or change the emotions.

Rather than forcing ourselves to “get over it” we can actually train the brain to think differently. In this call that will only be available for the next 48 hours, I walk Christine through setting up a new mental habit in the brain to counter the feelings of worry and anxiety.

Our brain can actually learn new mental habits very quickly if you walk through these steps that we’ve outlined in the audio. This exercise comes from the field of NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a field of applied psychology that focuses on how the brain stores and accesses information. Neuro refers to the neurons in our brain, linguistic refers to our language, and programming refers to our past history and the experiences that have programmed us.

When we understand how the brain works, we can actually train the brain to work for us rather than against us. Listen to this audio and discover how to train your brain out of worry and into feeling that you can handle whatever comes up in life.

The audio is hosted on the Weight Loss Program Page
